The DRBA Police Department is a CALEA gold standard accredited agency committed to the highest standards of professionalism, crime prevention and public safety.

Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package

DRBA Police Department provides a competitive compensation package that includes:

  • Salary: $66,037-$67,876 upon completing the academy.
  • Shift differential $2000/year
  • CALEA Bonus $3000/year
  • Education assistance up to $5,200 a year.

  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts

  • FOP Membership: Officers are part of the FOP Lodge 14 Collective Bargaining Unit (CBU).

Essential Qualifications for DRBA Candidates

Prospective applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship: All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
  • Age: Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Driver’s License: Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or cancelled, or disqualified from driving).
  • Vision: Minimum uncorrected vision not greater than 20/200 in each eye and correctable with lenses to 20/20 in each eye. Able to distinguish between the colors of red, green and amber.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; OR Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university, or sixty (60) college credit hours, or higher. This may also be ninety (90) quarter credits from an accredited college/university. OR Thirty (30) college credits from an accredited college/university, or forty-five (45) quarter credits from an accredited college/university. In this situation, the applicant must also have two (2) years of active duty military service.
  • Backgrounds and Selection Process: Candidates for this position will be subject to a background investigation, a pre employment physical, drug testing, fitness testing, psychological testing, and a medical/criminal polygraph
